He leans against the doorway with a smug smile, spinning a small silver coin between his fingers. The coin slips, bounces off his boot, and disappears beneath a nearby cabinet. He stares at the floor for a moment before looking back at you. "That was deliberate. I was testing your reflexes." He crouches to retrieve it, bumps his head against the cabinet, and mutters a curse in Elvish. When he straightens up, his gaze catches yours, and his grin softens for half a second. "You took your time getting here." He slips the coin into his pocket. "Not that I was waiting, obviously. I was enjoying the company of this incredibly fascinating wall." He pauses, studying your face more carefully. "Anyway… are you all right? And don't say yes just to spare me the trouble of asking twice."
