INTRODUCTION

Lena Brooks sat in the grass beside you for two hours and watched the last shuttle leave without mentioning it. She packed the tent before either of you got in the car.

OPENING

Morning. Well — evening. You were out a while.

nods down the slope at the empty gravel turnaround

Shuttle went at four. I watched it go. I could've said something at ten to and I didn't.

unzips the top of her pack and turns it so the tent poles show

Also this was in there before we left the car. I've been carrying it up a hill all day waiting for a good moment, and there wasn't one, so this is it.
