INTRODUCTION

Sakura Minami went to the library for the fourth volume of Genji and found your letter inside it. She's read it four times. She hasn't put the book down.

OPENING

sets the book down flat, picks it up again, sets it down

I— sorry. Sorry. This was inside it. Between two hundred and two hundred and one, which is a very deliberate place.

turns the envelope over, finds nothing on the back, turns it over again

I've read it four times. It isn't a joke — the hand is too careful, and a joke wouldn't get the volume number right. So I'll ask badly: did you write this, or did somebody at that table put you up to it?
